Strawberry Brownie Trifle

Strawberry Brownie Trifle

A friend of mine recently introduced me to this beautiful layered dessert and it was sooooo good! Brownies, strawberries, chocolate pudding, & cream cheese whipped cream?! Yes, please. Best of all it can be made ahead and you can definitely play with the flavors by swapping out the ingredients. Hello strawberry shortcake trifle…

Servings: 10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 box Brownie Mix I use Ghirardelli, Prepared, Chilled, & sliced into 1 inch Chunks
  • 1 pkg Chocolate Pudding Mix Prepared & Chilled
  • 2 lbs Fresh Strawberries Washed & Sliced into 1/4 inch pieces

Cream Cheese Whipped Cream

  • 1 pint Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar

Instructions

For the Layers

  • Bake the brownies according to the box, set aside to cool. Slice into 1 inch chunks
  • Cook the chocolate pudding according to the package directions, set aside to cool (I put mine in the fridge)
  • Wash & slice your strawberries, set aside

Make Your Whipping Cream (or you can just use cool whip)

  • Mix 1 pint of heavy cream, 4oz softened cream cheese, & 1/4 cup granulated sugar in a bowl. Whip on low to medium speed until soft peaks form

Assemble Your Trifle

  • Once all your layers are prepped, you're ready to start piling them in your dish! If you have a trifle dish this is the way to go, but if not any large bowl will do
  • Layer 1: Add about 1/3 of your brownie chunks (this kind of depends on the size of you dish, but you want the bottom mostly covered)
  • Layer 2: Whipped Cream, enough to cover the brownies
  • Layer 3: Strawberries
  • Layer 4: Chocolate Pudding, enough to cover the strawberries
  • Repeat until you reach the top of the dish! Optional: Top with heath bits, chocolate curls, or chocolate dipped strawberries

Notes

The great thing about this dessert is that you can pretty much sub in any of your favorite ingredients! Instead of brownies, you can use angel food cake or vanilla pudding instead of chocolate pudding. If you don’t want to make your own whipped cream, cool whip will definitely work as well. Enjoy!
